About the Candidate

Education & Experience

I am currently a Deputy Clerk in the Clerk's office. I have been a Deputy Clerk for almost five years. I have been in training to take over for the office of Clerk and I am very qualified to handle all complex administrative duties that the clerk position requires. I attended Oakland City University majoring in business studies. In the past I have had my common stock brokers and insurance license. I have attended computer classes for the Clerk's office software program along with Protective order classes and Court Clerk's meetings where new legislative office procedures are introduced.

I have a long history of being a community leader as well as being a community servant. These traits will serve me well in the role of Circuit Court Clerk.

Biography

Gay Ann has been performing the difficult operations of the Spencer County Clerk's Office for close to five years. The years of experience that she has will serve you well as your County Clerk. Gay Ann has a long history of community service and serves on many boards such as the Spencer County Tourism Board, Leadership Spencer County, Kiwanis, and is president of the Friends of Lincoln Pioneer Village, She is a member of Tri Kappa, ABR, Spencer County Democrats, Lincoln Bicentennial Committee, and the American Legion Auxilary. Gay Ann has been married to Joseph (Kim) Harney for 30 years. They live in Rockport and have two sons, Christopher and Nicholas. Kim is a member of Local 181 and is a union crane operator for Sterrett Crane. They are members of River City Church where she serves as a greeter and on the new visitors ministry.

Goals and Accomplishments

If elected I plan on microfilming and scanning the books and files in the Clerk's office. I plan on making the court documents accessible to the public via the internet and to make more court filing forms available. I will be proud to serve as your Circuit Court Clerk and would appreciate your vote.

Other Information

I am not running for this office to fill the ticket. I am running for the love of the job and the people that depend on the Clerk's office to function from day one. No one running can top the job experience that I have to offer to the Clerk's office and Spencer County. I would love to have your support and vote on November 4th.
